Hoanh Bo Soaked Rice Wine

To Ha Long Bay Vietnam, visitors not only enjoy the spectacular beauty of this bay, but also can enjoy the natural and wild beauty of forest here named Hoanh Bo forest with many species of rare plants. This forest is not only well known by its wild but also as it is origin of a famous wine called “Hoanh Bo Soaked Rice Wine”.

This wine made up from a particular kind of glutinous rice that only Halong has. In order to born this wine with the best taste, it requires the experiences, the sophisticated skills and some important tips such as: rice, without being ground, must be cooked through and incubated. After the fermentation of rice the wine makers soak it with fermented leaves from Hoanh Bo forest. Then the wine will be filtered out and stored in jars or bottles for aging. This distinct flavor of this wine is it sweetness and sourness which make drinker feel drinkable, light and hardly to be drunk. Another interest of this wine is that if someone unfortunately gets drunk, it will be last for 2-3 days of suffering from headache and tiredness.
